Storm le nouveau Minna Ora sur LRdR

STORM WARNING! Minna Ora’s single Storm is about to hit your heart and soul! The longhaul musician – singer, guitarist, and songwriter – Minna Ora releases the fifth song in her single series, and it’s titled Storm. A Finnish version of the song, Myrsky, has already been published. The previous singles in the series, all published in two languages, have gained attention both inside and outside of Finland, receiving excellent reviews, and this song will likely follow the same success. The earlier singles were called Forest, Sea, Fire and Wind, with their Finnish counterparts Metsä, Meri, Tuli and Tuuli. Minna is particularly skillful at creating a world within her songs where the listener and experiencer feels at ease, affected, and moved, even when the topic is heavy. True to her style, she has given this song her all, and her heartfelt dedication can easily be felt by the listener. A hypnotic beat and Minna’s soulful voice making a beautiful melody are dressed in a fabulous harmony, which carries through the entire journey. Storm hits and touches. To be sure, the journey described in the song has been long and painful for humanity. In Storm, Minna takes on human selfishness, greed, and the abuse of power. Everything where people act primarily out of their own self-interest, focusing on themselves, acting ruthlessly, overlooking the suffering of fellow human beings. Sadly, Homo homini lupus (a human is a wolf to another human) is something that was noted over two thousand years ago. This history is brought forward wonderfully in Storm. The generational perspective is accentuated in the beginning, where you can hear Minna’s mother reciting a poem in Finnish that Minna’s grandmother had written based on her family’s experiences during the Second World War. In the early parts, one can also sense the history, along with the sorrow and mourning of the collective consciousness. The music video for Storm features five generations of Minna’s family. The message might be: will we ever learn? Yet, Minna and her song do not want to leave room for pessimism or cynicism: “Hear me shout, listen to me. I will not just break down at your feet. Hear me out, you’d better listen to me. I won’t surrender, I won’t give in.” Minna sings these words – not aggressively or belligerently, but decisively and with love. Injustices are not fixed by more injustices. What a beautiful package in which to serve this piece of spiritual wisdom! One could claim that this song’s message is more relevant now than ever. Yes and no; unfortunately, there is no era in sight, neither in the past nor in the future, when this song and its message wouldn’t have been or wouldn’t be relevant and timely.
