About Mark Emsley Mark makes melodic, guitar-driven rock and pop-rock built around big choruses, honest lyrics and real-life experience. His current solo project grew out of a major turning point in his life. After getting clean and sober in October 2024, songwriting became a renewed focus, resulting in a collection of songs dealing with relationships, loss, recovery, hope and starting again. Mark also has a long background in the music industry, having worked as a product demonstrator for companies including Fender, Line 6 and Hughes & Kettner. His work brought him into contact with artists including Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, Iron Maiden, Simple Plan and Oasis, and he was involved in the development of Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson’s signature guitar amplifier. Mark’s current solo project has also brought collaborations and support from established musicians including Phil Solem of The Rembrandts and Guy Griffin of The Quireboys. Satellite Heart shows the immediate, commercial side of Mark’s sound — melodic, guitar-driven and built around a big singalong chorus. “Satellite Heart is probably the most immediate song I’ve recorded. It’s got loads of guitars, a huge chorus and that feeling of reaching for somebody who somehow still feels just out of reach. I wanted it to have some emotion in it, but also to be a song you can turn up loud and just sing along to.” — Mark Emsley For fans of: Goo Goo Dolls, Bryan Adams, Green Day, Simple Plan, The Gaslight Anthem, Bon Jovi
