About Ironic Sweden: Hailing from Småland County in southeast Sweden, Ironic Sweden is an evolving force in the world of electronic music. The band’s journey began when Dan Ritzen met Stig from Town and Towers Records in May 2023. Stig and Town And Towers Records wanted to be a part of the band’s journey. Their shared passion for music sparked new energy and direction, fueling the band’s ongoing mission to create music that feels good, tells a story, and keeps the listeners moving. Blending nostalgic 90's-inspired textures with modern beats and synth-driven energy, Ironic Sweden crafts a unique sound that sits between synthpop and futurepop. Their production approach is experimental yet deeply melodic, designed to evoke emotion while keeping the rhythm alive. Dan’s musical roots stretch back to the late ’90s, when he and Fredrik Hansson formed the project Obscene Inside—a creative experiment that laid the groundwork for what was to come. By the mid-2000s, Dan rebranded the project as Ironic and released a self-titled EP in an extremely limited run. In 2010, the project evolved once again, now into Ironic Sweden, with years of songwriting and production leading up to the release of the debut EP Player in December 2017. Limited to just 100 copies on CD and vinyl. With a musical style, that leads your thoughts towards And One, the EP “Player" gained airplay on both national and international radio, marking the band’s emergence on the global scene. In mid-2023, the band expanded with vocalists Stefan and Tezz, adding new layers and dimension to the sound and producing standout tracks like “I Believe You”, “Media Whore”, and “Lost Eden" the presents and almost classic 90’s sound that makes you think of The Beloved. As of 2025, the lineup consists of Dan and Stefan, with the duo collaborating with various guest vocalists to keep the sound dynamic and fresh. Female vocal features remain a key part of Ironic Sweden’s evolving sonic identity, enriching their distinctive blend of energy and emotion. With every release, Ironic Sweden continues to explore new sonic landscapes - always searching for that perfect balance between story, sound, and feeling.
