It’s synth inspired by Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo and Dan Nigro’s production work. It’s about coping with growing up and it’s the song I’m most proud of on the EP.” Built around gritty guitars and bass, expansive synths and a striking central chorus, ‘16’ demonstrates an artist already displaying an unusually assured understanding of songwriting and sonic identity.
