Stockton-on-Tees artist Marina Josephina releases ‘Old News the first single from her forthcoming PRS Foundation-funded EP ‘Desire & Intent’ Released Wednesday 16 September 2026. Blending soul, jazz, R&B, Marina’s impassioned sound has drawn comparisons to Amy Winehouse, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and Norah Jones, with songwriting rooted in love, female empowerment and honesty. ‘Old News’ is inspired by the golden era of noughties R&B and female groups including TLC, Destiny’s Child, SWV and En Vogue with the lyrics drawing on negative relationship experiences and explores male entitlement and knowing when to move on. Named a BBC Introducing in the North East ‘One To Watch’ for 2025, Marina has supported soul legend Alexander O’Neal and rising indie-soul artist Brooke Combe, alongside appearances at Kendal Calling 2025, The Great Escape 2026 and Liverpool Sound City 2026.
